In a plea to help surviving 911 first responders and their families, former Daily Show host Jon Stewart emotionally chided lawmakers Tuesday (June 11) at a House Judiciary subcommittee hearing to extend funding for the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund.
"Your indifference cost these men and women their most valuable commodity," said Stewart, further stating the lack of attention form Congress is shameful and that the victims have been forgotten.
Congress approved $7.4 million in 2015, but the money has almost run out and funds have been slashed.
Stewart did not stop at the hearing. He went on to shame Mitch McConnell on Fox News Sunday.
